Short Story:
I am a nature lover and an artist. When those two things combine…. you get some pretty interesting earthy creations some of which you’ll see on this website.
Long Story:
After studying Fine Art at Bealart I endeavored to become a starving artist. Not being so big on the starving part of that deal I found it necessary to take on a series of part time jobs.
One of the more enjoyable jobs I took was at a garden centre for the summer. The following September I was signed up to study Landscape Design at Fanshawe.
Plant material became my paints. I could sculpt the earth with my pencil. It was, and still is a good match.
Now I have a huge garden, and I love getting out into it. I love getting right in there. I love to watch a bee dance around collecting pollen, or to watch the way the petals look with the sun shining through them, or to look at the intricate lace work of a fern frond.
Nature is perfect on it’s own…. I just reframe it. My jewellery allows me to take nature keep it with me always, close to my heart – literally! And that is what drives me. It’s all about keeping what you love and cherish close to your heart – whether its nature, a special rock, a place you’ve traveled, your cat or dog… keep it close to your heart.
